Italian Media Detail Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez’s Disappointing Performance Against Genoa Yesterday

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s poor performance against Genoa yesterday.

The report details how the 23-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, struggled to impress against the Rossoblu yesterday, failing to find the back of the net or provide dangerous passes.

Coach Antonio Conte is hoping for Lautaro to find his energy, and maybe a little more serenity, in the upcoming Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old spent parts of the first half arguing with Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, whilst also complaining when being brought off, unhappy with a poor throw in from Alessandro Bastoni.

Lautaro has made six appearances so far this season across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist in that time. He’s not scored or assisted in the last three consecutive games.
