Italian Media Criticise Inter Midfielder Christian Eriksen For “Another Empty Performance” Yesterday

A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has highlighted how Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen does not fit coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system.

The report details how the 28-year-old Danish midfielder failed to particularly impress in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Genoa yesterday.

The player was brought off in place of Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella early in the second half, who had an instant impact and provided the assist for the opening goal, showing his understanding of Conte’s system.

Yesterday’s game confirmed that Eriksen, who earns around €10 million per year making him the highest paid player in the squad, is currently not fit for the system and clearly does not shine.

Inter may not be the right place for Eriksen to show off his abilities, despite Conte’s best attempts to remain positive and give the player two consecutive starts.

The former Tottenham midfielder has not contributed to a goal in his first five appearances this season.
