Inter Owned Valentino Lazaro: “Don’t Know About The Future, Can’t Wait To Play For Gladbach”

Inter owned wing-back Valentino Lazaro has revealed that he cannot wait to make his debut for Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Austrian national team player joined the Bundesliga club on a season long loan during the most recent Summer transfer window but an injury, which he sustained in his first friendly match for them, has prevented him from making a single competitive appearance.

“I don’t know about the future. I haven’t played a single game here yet. I moved to ‘Gladbach to play, to help the club achieve their goals. We’ll see about the rest.

“I can’t wait for the manager to choose me. I feel good,” he explained in an interview with German news outlet Kicker, which appeared in today’s print edition.

The former Hertha Berlin player proceeded to reflect on the loan spell that he had with Premier League side Newcastle United which lasted the duration of the second half of the season.

“The prospect of having the European Championship ahead played an important role. Hence the decision to go away on loan from Inter to be able to play regularly.

“I also had contacts with some German clubs but in the end I preferred to try the Premier League.”

Lazaro then went on to share his confidence in himself and his teammates when it comes to their chances of making it past the Champions League group stage following their Champions League group stage opening draw against parent club Inter last week.

“We are confident in our strengths and we want to win. In the Champions League, anything is possible. I think that both us and Shakhtar have shown that we can play in it already in the first day.

“We have quality in the squad and we have shown it in matches like that against Inter.”
