A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has detailed Inter and AC Milan’s work regarding their new stadium project that was sent to the City Council yesterday.
The report details how the two clubs submitted their integration of the feasibility study and the economic and financial plan of the San Siro valorization to the City Council yesterday, now waiting for a response from the council.
The two clubs have reduced the extra-stage volumetric index to 0.51, from 0.63, and have asked for 145 thousand total square meters around the new stadium, that can be reached thanks to the reuse of the existing San Siro stadium.
Many iconic elements of the current stadium will remain, with it being converted into a sports district and commercial area. A pedestrian area equal to about 220 thousand square meters will be added, alongside the green space being doubled from 56 thousand to 106 thousand square meters.
The two clubs are currently waiting for a response from the City Council, before they will pick between the two leading projects, Populous or Sportium.
If everything goes smoothly, the choice will be made between the end of this year and the start of next.
