Juventus Coach Pirlo: “Inter Coach Conte Will Know Very Well Where To Play Christian Eriksen”

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo discussed Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen and if he can play in a similar to the role that was played by the Bianconeri coach in his career in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia yesterday.

First, Pirlo spoke about if he’ll cheer for AC Milan or his friend Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli this evening.

“I’m happy to spend a Sunday relaxing, watching the games. Any result is fine.”

He then moved onto discussing if the Nerazzurri’s Christian Eriksen could play a ‘Pirlo’ style role at Inter under Antonio Conte.

“He is a very technical player, who does not have much physicality and energy. But Coach Conte will know very well where to put him.”

The 28-year-old Eriksen, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2024, has not adapted to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system since arriving from Premier League side Tottenham in January.

This season, he has made seven appearances across all competitions, for a total of 301 minutes, but has remained invisible, not matching Conte’s required intensity.

The 28-year-old Dane recently complained to the media about his lack of playing time in Milan, but the 51-year-old Italian coach responded yesterday in a press conference, highlighting how he’d given the player many of chances.
