Inter have won the primary elections for the role of anti-Juventus according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.
Juventus have won the last nine Serie A titles in a row and after narrowly beating fellow title contenders Napoli last night, Inter are seen as the anti-Juventus at the moment.
Inter, who last won the Serie A title back in the 2009/10 season, won 1-0 at home to Napoli thanks to a second half penalty from Romelu Lukaku, who grabbed his 14th goal across all competitions so far this season.
La Repubblica however believe that Napoli did not deserve to lose the match in the slightest bit given how they played, especially in comparison to Inter, who were rather poor.
Following the win over Napoli, Inter cut the gap between themselves and Serie A leaders AC Milan to just one point and they are also currently three points ahead of Juventus in the standings after 12 games played.
