Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi has broken records by scoring as many goals as he has in his time with Inter thus far according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Hakimi has four goals in 13 appearances across all competitions to date this term, with all of these goals having been scored in Serie A. He has also provided three assists in the league and another in the UEFA Champions League.
The report from the Milan based news outlet, which cites data from sports data and analytics company Opta, states that never in the three point era has an Inter defender scored as many as Hakimi has in such few matches.
Hakimi, who is currently Inter’s third highest goal scorer this season behind Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, is also the highest scoring defender in Europe’s top five leagues this term.
The report goes on to conclude that Hakimi has put the difficult moments he endured a few weeks ago behind him with his recent performances.
