Current West Ham United and 13 time Italian national team centre back Angelo Ogbonna has shared his belief that Inter are unlikely to lose ground in the race for the Serie A title thanks to having Antonio Conte as manager.

“It is a balanced league. It is nice to see there being so much competition,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which took place yesterday afternoon.

Ogbonna, who started out at Torino and has also played at Juventus for two years between 2013 and 2015, then spoke on the three sides who many believe will battle it out to win the Serie A title in current league leaders AC Milan, reigning champions Juventus and last season’s runners up Inter.

“AC Milan are back to their previous levels, Juve is going through a bad moment, but Juve are getting stronger. Inter have a leader in Conte and it is unlikely that they will lose ground I think.”

As things stand, AC Milan have a one point lead over Inter, who are sitting in second place. Juventus are meanwhile sitting down in sixth place, although they do have a game in hand which comes against current fifth placed side Napoli.
