Papu Gomez will only leave Atalanta in January for Inter or Juventus, according to an Italian newspaper report today.

As per Corriere di Bergamo, this is the case as the 32-year-old Argentine does not want to move to a mid-table club after playing in the UEFA Champions League with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

Inter have in fact already reached an agreement over personal terms with Gomez’s representatives but need to offload out of favour attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Inter are limited in what they can do in terms of signings until Eriksen leaves due to his €7.5 million net a year salary.

Multiple reports elsewhere in the media have linked Eriksen with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and a few reports are now beginning to state that a return to former club Tottenham Hotspur could be a possibility for the Denmark international.

This season Eriksen has made 13 appearances across all competitions but has failed to score or assist any goals.
