Inter’s transfer activity in January is being blocked in part by owners Suning’s ongoing negotiations with BC Partners, an Italian media report has suggested today.
As per Corierre della Sera’s print edition, at the moment the Nerazzurri cannot afford new signings and at most they will discuss player departures in order to reduce the costs.
Suning are thought to be looking for new investors into the club after tough new restrictions from the Chinese government, limiting their possibility to invest like previously.
Following yesterday’s 2-2 draw away to Roma, head coach Antonio Conte admitted that the club were very clear with him regarding the line they would be taking with transfer and he even claimed that nothing would be done.
Moreover, the former Italian national team boss claimed to not even having asked the club management for a new signing or signings in this month’s transfer window.
Inter have been strongly linked with the signing of a new central midfielder as well as a new striker with no shortage of names having been linked to the Nerazzurri side.
