Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has taken a liking to Inter centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, according to an Italian media report today.

As per today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Premier League giants, who are not the only top European club interested in signing the 21-year-old, thought about making a move for him last summer and could renew their interest in the upcoming off-season.

Despite the alleged interest, the report from the Rome-based newspaper makes it clear that Inter are not even prepared to consider letting Bastoni go, following his excellent performances under Antonio Conte this season.

Inter invested €31 million to sign Bastoni from Atalanta in 2017 and were heavily criticised at the time, but the investment has more than paid off and the Italian national team player is thought to certainly be worth much more than that now.

Bastoni is contracted to the club until 2023 but talks over a new and improved deal for him at the Nerazzurri are said to already be underway.
