Inter To Pay Nerazzurri Players Salaries For July & August Today, Italian Media Reports

Inter will pay their players two months’ worth of outstanding salaries today, according to one Italian media report.

As per Il Giorno’s print edition, the Nerazzurri will settle the unpaid wages for the months of July and August last year, which were supposed to be paid by December 1 but were deferred due to an agreement reached with the squad.

Inter will also pay their players the salaries for November and December before the Italian Football Federation’s deadline of February 16, although it will only be the after-tax figure.

The taxes relating to the salaries will be paid in 24 instalments, starting from May.

The report goes on to make it clear that there is no chance Suning could pass on the responsibility of paying the delayed wages to future owners.

Even if negotiations with British-based private equity fund BC Partners were to be concluded in February, when their exclusive agreement to negotiate with Suning runs out and they will presumably make their first offer, there would not be enough time to complete the takeover before the February 16 wage deadline.
