Inter Defender Andrea Ranocchia: “Matches Against Juventus Are Always Special”

Inter’s Italian central defender Andrea Ranocchia highlighted that the games against Juventus are always special he said immediately after the match.

Speaking to InterTV after the impressive win the former Nerazzurri captain underlined the importance of the match adding that the Nerazzurri have a Coppa Italia final in their sights.

“The matches against Juventus are always special but we are demonstrating that we are doing well. We go to that match to play ourselves to the final.”

The former Genoa player stated that he is always ready when called upon by the coach and that team is building a mentality to always improve.

“I always look to be ready when called upon. We always train hard to be able to respond by being ready. We have a lot of players who are doing well.

“We have to continue like this, to win.

“We are building a mentality in order to be concentrated until the end, without distracting ourselves for one second, both when we are winning or when we are chasing the games.

“This is fundamentally important in order to be there until the end.”

The former Sampdoria defender then commented on the congested fixture list stating that Inter have to approach the matches in a positive way.

“There are a lot of matches to be played, this is true but this means that there are two objectives left for us. From one perspective it could seem like a punishment but on the other it makes us aware that we are competing on many fronts.

“We have a lot of players who are feeling well, there are no problems from where we stand, we have to continue like this.”

Inter won the match 4-0 thanks to a brace from Romelu Lukaku as well as a goal from Lautaro Martinez with Improta breaking the deadlock with an owngoal following a Christian Eriksen set piece.

The Nerazzurri now sit in second place in the Serie A Standings with 44 points, just 2 shy of cross-town rival AC Milan on 46 who defeated Bologna away earlier today by 2-1.
