Inter’s Romelu Lukaku Facing FIGC Interview Over Zlatan Ibrahimovic Spat Tomorrow, Italian Media Report

Romelu Lukaku will speak to the Italian Football Federation tomorrow as part of their investigation into his bust-up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to an Italian media report today.

The former Manchester United teammates squared up to one another during last month’s Milan derby and could face further punishment for the distasteful insults they were heard to have exchanged by pitch-side microphones.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, Lukaku will give his version of events to FIGC prosecutors tomorrow, with Ibrahimovic having already contributed to the investigation a couple of weeks ago.

The Rome-based publication said Lukaku would head for his interview happy, relieved and relaxed after starring in Inter’s 3-1 win over Lazio last night.

“Lukaku prefers to do his talking on the pitch, with important goals, wild forward runs and key assists at the perfect moment,” they wrote.

The Belgian will head into Sunday’s next instalment of the Derby della Madonnina ahead of Ibrahimovic in the league table, with Inter’s win taking them top of Serie A for the first time this season.
