Inter have the luxury of being able to lose three games as they chase down the Serie A title, an Italian media report highlighted today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition pointed out that Napoli, Roma and Juventus were the only top sides left in the Nerazzurri’s schedule before the end of the season.
Inter are six points clear of AC Milan in second but they have a game in hand over the Rossoneri, which would give them a nine-point lead with a win against Sassuolo.
This would mean Antonio Conte’s side could lose all three of their remaining big matches and still walk away with the Scudetto.
Inter need only eight wins from their last 11 games to win the club’s first league title since 2010, the Rome-based paper continued.
The Nerazzurri have six matches coming up in the space of 23 days during April, starting with Saturday’s fixture away at Bologna.
CdS concluded that while Inter wouldn’t be making any calculations about who they needed to beat or how many points were required, Conte’s side could take heart from knowing that they simply needed to keep doing what they have done up to now in order to win the title.
Bologna, Sassuolo and Cagliari are their next three opponents in the coming 10 days.
