Inter Coach Antonio Conte Aiming To Become First To Win Nine Consecutive Serie A Matches Since Roberto Mancini, Italian Media Highlight

Inter visit Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this evening with coach Antonio Conte looking to secure a ninth consecutive win in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri have been in sparkling form since the turn of the year and their dominance has allowed them to open up a six point gap with a game in hand going into the weekend, as they close in on a first Scudetto since 2010.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, victory over the Rossoblu would see Conte become the first Inter coach to maintain a nine-match winning run in Serie A since Roberto Mancini in 2007.

The current Italy coach achieved the feat as part of a league record 17 consecutive wins en route to the title that season, and no coach has since managed such a sequence.

Inter’s eight-match streak began with a 4-0 win over Benevento at the end of January and has taken in victories over AC Milan, Lazio and Atalanta.
