Antonio Conte admits it’s only natural Inter’s players are starting to feel the pressure after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Spezia.
The Nerazzurri had the chance to move 12 points clear of AC Milan at the top of the table but fell behind to an early goal from Diego Farias.
Ivan Perisic restored parity before half-time but Inter were forced to settle for a point at the Stadio Alberto Picco, leaving them 10 points clear with six games left.
“It’s inevitable we’re feeling the pressure,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia after the full-time whistle in Liguria.
“Let’s not forget that lots of players are fighting for something important for the first time in their careers, but they’re doing it well.
“We wouldn’t have stolen anything if we’d won today, we produced a great performance with intensity.
“We needed to be more precise with our final pass but we played the game well, with the right spaces and distances.
“It’s OK, what interests me is that we produce the performance and that the lads are on the ball.
“We can begin to see the finish line and the pressure is inevitable, but we’re living with the pressure from the start of the season.”
Conte was also asked if Inter found it harder to prepare for this match given the chaos surrounding the European Super League this week.
“We only had one day of training after playing Napoli (on Sunday night), so our work was very concentrated,” he explained.
“We heard the news, that was inevitable.”
Conte criticised UEFA during the same interview for ‘squeezing players like lemons’ and not sharing enough of their money with clubs.
Inter will return to Serie A action on Sunday when they welcome out-of-form Hellas Verona to San Siro.
“We need to recover well now because a very physical game awaits us,” Conte added.
