Inter were full of praise for their former boss Claudio Ranieri after he organised a very classy gesture on Saturday.

Ranieri asked Sampdoria’s players to create a guard of honour for the Nerazzurri before their match at San Siro, after Inter wrapped up the Serie A title.

Antonio Conte’s side received a hero’s welcome on the pitch before going on to win the match 5-1, exacting revenge for their defeat at Marassi in January.

Inter tweeted: “Brilliant sportsmanship.”
