Inter striker Lautaro Martinez remains a major target for English club Tottenham Hotspur, but the Nerazzurri remain firm that they will not sell him.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who reported late last night that the London-based side could make another move for Martinez to replace Harry Kane should they lose him, but that Inter are trying to extend his contract instead.

Spurs are among the major European clubs who have been testing the Nerazzurri over Martinez, and with Tottenham captain Kane still heavily linked with a move away to Manchester City they could yet make another pish for him.

The English side have already made a €70 million offer for the 23-year-old, but the Nerazzurri flatly rejected it, not wanting to lose a third major squad member following the departures of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

Tottenham may not be dissuaded and could return with a larger offer, though Inter’s plan is to resist any advances.

The Nerazzurri will meet with the Argentine’s agent in the coming days to kick-start talks on a contract extension and will hope to secure his future and ward off the interest of Tottenham and others.
