Brest Sporting Director Gregory Lorenzi has given an update on his club’s pursuit of Inter midfielder Lucien Agoume on loan.

Speaking to French news outlet L’Equipe, the executive explained that Agoume is in consideration for the Ligue 1 side, but that they are still acting with caution in the market as they know they must act intelligently given their limited resources.

Agoume returned to Inter this summer from a loan spell with Spezia last season, and after some consideration it looks clear that his immediate future will be on loan, with the 19-year-old having renewed his contract with the Nerazzurri.

A number of clubs in Italy and France have showed an interest in bringing the young French midfielder in, but his future now looks to be in France.

Brest are one club where he could find himself playing next season, though they are not yet ready to seal the deal on a loan move for him.

“I fully understand that the manager wants younger players,” said Sporting Director Lorenzi of talks for Agoume, “We are working to unlock the negotiations, but there are difficulties.”

He continued, “The market is quite tight and, financially, it is very complicated. We do not have the ability to make too many investments. We’re focusing on quality and not quantity. We must add value.”
