Inter could still make a late push for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, but will only do so if a midfielder already in their squad departs before the end of the transfer window.
This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercarto.com, who report that the Uruguayan is still on the Nerazzurri’s radar but that with their midfield depth already strong they would wait to shift on a player already in the squad to swoop for him, with Arturo Vidal in particular a possibility.
Inter had been in advanced talks with Cagliari earlier this month over the signing of Nandez, but the negotiations broke down over the Rossoblu’s refusal to accept the Nerazzurri’s financial terms and preferred formula.
The player for his part expects a move away and believes that he has been promised one, with Inter his preferred destination but the likes of Atalanta, Tottenham, and Leeds also tracking him.
The Nerazzurri still consider him a target, but right now would have to wait til room is made for him in their squad before they would make a serious move for him.
