Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni trained individually rather than with the rest of the Nerazzurri squad today as he looks to get back to full fitness following a minor thigh strain.
This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the 22-year-old is being assessed to determine whether he will be able to be available for the Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Bastoni missed yesterday’s trip to the Marassi to face Sampdoria due to a strain to his left thigh flexors, which head had picked up on international duty with the Italian national team.
The defender is thought to be past the minor knock already, but it is not yet clear whether there is any chance that he could appear in the Champions League group stage opener against Real.
The club will not want there to be any risk of Bastoni re-injuring his thigh, and so he is being observed and is training apart from the squad for the time being.
