Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi made an important impact on his team when he decided to make four substitutions against Sassuolo yesterday, with his changes changing the game and winning his team the match.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who described the changes as “shock therapy” which turned around a poor performance and found the solutions needed to get the better of the Neroverdi.
Inter looked to be on the brink of a first league defeat against Alessio Dionisi’s men, deservedly a goal behind going into the interval after being outplayed for long periods of the first half.
The coach took drastic action by making four changes early on in the second half, because he wanted to see a totally different performance than the one which he was seeing, and in the end his gambit worked.
The Nerazzurri produced their third comeback win of the season, having already defeated Hellas Verona and Fiorentina having gone into the break a goal down, and the Corriere argue that this was the most significant one yet for how it showed that the manager can react to situations of difficulty.
