Three of Inter’s South American continent started for their countries in World Cup qualifier matches last night, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by FcINternews, Alexis Sanchez started the match for Chile against Peru, Joaquin Correa started for Argentina against Paraguay, and Matias Vecino was given the nod for Uruguay’s match against Colombia.

The only Inter players that are South American to not feature for their countries were Arturo Vidal who is suspended and Lautaro Martinez who has picked up a muscle strain injury.

There was not much in the way of success for any of the Inter players though. Chile were beaten 2-0 by Peru and will now struggle to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Uruguay and Argentina both recorded 0-0 draws. This is more of an issue for Argentina as they were facing a team they would be expected to beat.
