Croatian national team head coach Zlatko Dalic has praised the impact that Inter’s Ivan Perisic manages to have for his team.

Speaking to Croatian news outlet HRT, the Croatian boss praised the Nerazzurri man for his goalscoring exploits with the national team after his opener helped see Croatia to a 3-0 win over Cyprus.

Perisic has been an important player for Croatia for some time, starting regularly for the team through the past several international tournaments, and he continues to have a major impact for his national team.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to his club season, gaining consistency as he has started regularly on the left of Simone Inzaghi’s team, and he has brought this momentum into the national team as well.

Dalic was pleased that the Inter man can still be such a reliable outlet for him in front of goal, especially in the situations where his team needs his contribution.

“When things get difficult he steps up and he scores,” Dalic said of Perisic. “Here he continued his series.”
