Inter are aiming to make signings in the January transfer window and would aim to bring in an attacker to replace Alexis Sanchez should the Chilean leave the club, but will only do so if they reach the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno, who report that progression from the group stage of Europe’s top competition is a mandatory condition for reinforcing the attack in January.

Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has made clear that the club have adding to the squad in January as part of their budget as they look to strengthen the options available to coach Simone Inzaghi across multiple competitions.

In attack, the likes of Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic are the three major targets who the club would go after should Alexis Sanchez leave.

However, if the team fail to qualify for the knockout rounds of the Champions League then the situation would be different, and attacking reinforcements would not arrive in January.
