Inter are aiming to get the process of extending key midfielder Marcelo Brozovic’s contract underway soon, and will hold the first talks towards this after the Champions League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that renewing with the Croatian is a priority and that once tomorrow’s match is out of the way the talks will begin.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2022, and the club are determined not to lose him next summer as he is considered an irreplaceable player.

The Croat’s vital contributions to the club were underlined by a strong performance against Lazio over the weekend where he did not look like he deserved to be on the losing side, and the club do not wish to wait any longer to get his renewal started.

To this end, they plan to get the process underway in the next couple days in view of getting the player’s situation secured as soon as possible.
