Edin Dzeko was Inter’s best performer in a much-needed Champions League win against Sheriff Tiraspol at the San Siro yesterday evening, according to Italian media.

The 35-year-old received an excellent 8/10 grade for his display in the player ratings for the match of Milan-based newspaper Gazetta dello Sport published in today’s print edition, while Denzel Dumfries was branded as the Nerazzurri’s worst performer.

Dzeko bagged a goal and an assist to lead his team to victory while he showed his strength and technical quality to compete with the Sheriff defenders throughout the match, making virtually no errors.

Midfielder Arturo Vidal also managed a goal and an assist, and he earned a 7/10 score and words of praise for his performance.

Dumfries was singled out as the Nerazzurri’s weakest player, having been wasteful in front of goal despite an assist for Stefan de Vrij, while captain Samir Handanovic also received the same grade given his culpability for Sebastien Thill’s equalizer for Sheriff from a free kick.

Ivan Perisic was also given a solid 6.5/10 grade for how he affected the match in decisive moments, while head coach Simone Inzaghi was also awarded the same score for how he set his team up for the match.
