Inter are getting ready to offer a new contract to Italian defender Federico Dimarco who has solidified himself as a first team player at the club this season, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter are very impressed by the way that Federico Dimarco has started this Serie A campaign and want to reward him for it.

The academy graduate has shown that he can be an effective rotation option at left wing back with Ivan Perisic, but crucially, he has even shown that he can play as part of the three central defenders as well.

This means he has valuable versatility for Simone Inzaghi to exploit when needed. His current deal will run out in 2023, but the club wants to tie him down until 2026, adjusting his wages accordingly.

There is nothing to suggest that the player will not accept the deal.
