The San Siro is set to have a sold-out crowd at the allowable 75% capacity for this evening’s Serie A clash between Inter and Juventus.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that around 57,000 fans are expected to be in attendance for the massive Serie A head-to-head.
Inter, like all Italian clubs, had to go more than a year playing in front of empty stands due to the pandemic but this season they were finally able to play in front of supporters again, first at 50% capacity and then at 75%.
Last season when the Nerazzurri defeated the Bianconeri 2-0 at home in January they were forced to do so in front of an empty stadium, while in the Juventus win the previous season about 75,000 were in attendance.
The full capacity crowd is not yet allowable due to Italian law, but the seats available have sold out, bringing in revenues of around €5 million, and the atmosphere should be close to as intense as it can get.
