Inter players Andrea Ranocchia and Matteo Darmian each made vital contributions in Sunday’s win over Napoli, and they once again showed how deep their value to the team is.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who highlight the duo’s significance to the squad, on the pitch and behind the scenes, even while they are never the most eye-catching squad members.

Ranocchia made his second start of the season against the Partenopei, filling in for the injured Stefan de Vrij.

The 33-year-old had put in an excellent performance against Empoli already this campaign, but Napoli always looked to be a bigger challenge.

Nevertheless, the defender showed that he was more than up to the task with his display, and showed that he can always make high-level contributions even if he is not a regular starter in the team.

Meanwhile, Darmian’s performance was also one of the standouts, and carried on a broadly very good vein of form for the Italian.

The 31-year-old has also put in similar displays against the likes of AC Milan and Juventus already this campaign, and he looks to be far from done.

Both players are pillars of the Inter locker room and both have shown how significant their contributions can be on the pitch, and this owes to the fact that they are always working hard even if it is in the background of some of  their more eye-catching teammates’ efforts.
