Italian journalist Alessandro Vocalelli believes that Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has proven himself at a new level with his work at the Nerazzurri so far this season.

Writing in his column for today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Vocalelli gave the view that the Nerazzurri boss has shown that he can successfully implement his ideas outside of Lazio by showing very positive signs at his new club.

Inzaghi had established a positive reputation with his work across five seasons in charge of the Biancocelesti, but taking over at Inter was always going to be a different challenge for the 45-year-old.

The coach had the task of inheriting the work of Antonio Conte, who had guided the Nerazzurri to their first Scudetto in eleven years, and there was anything but a guarantee of success given the player sales made in the summer.

However, the former Lazio coach has shown that he is up to the task so far, and Vocalelli believes that even though “Simone Inzaghi had to inherit the significant and difficult legacy of Antonio Conte, and without key players Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku,” he has “cast off the legacy of the ‘home-made’ coach” from Lazio.
