Inter president Steven Zhang is very happy with the work that Simone Inzaghi has done at the club so far this season, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Chinese president is particularly happy with the delivery of Champions League knockout football which will help the club financially at a time when it is needed most.

Inter stand to earn around €60 million as it stands from the Champions League this season but that could rise further with any wins in the latter stage of the tournament.

Steven Zhang is also reportedly pleased that he listened to Inter sporting CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio when they suggested hiring Simone Inzaghi to replace Antonio Conte when he left the club.

The two executives are yet to sign renewals with the club but the negotiation is expected to be concluded shortly.
