Inter are confident about being able to find an agreement with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic on a contract extension.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that there are frequent contacts between the club and the 29-year-old’s representatives and that another formal meeting is set for next week.

Inter have made extending Brozovic’s contract a priority given that the Croat’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022 and there is no desire to let him go on a free transfer next summer.

The first formal meeting occurred between the club and Brozovic’s father and family lawyer on November 17, and the club have been regularly in contact since.

They key to success in future meetings about the extension will be finding an agreement on wages, with the club ready to come close to the 29-year-old’s demand of €7 million net per season by going to €5.5-6 million plus significant add-ons.
