Inter’s emphatic 3-0 win over Roma yesterday evening in Serie A showed that they are now the favourites for the Scudetto, according to Italian media.

This from today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who argue that the Nerazzurri’s dominant display marks them out as the team best-placed to go on and win the Serie A title.

The Nerazzurri have not yet fully overturned the deficit at the top of the Serie A table, still sitting one point behind city rivals AC Milan in top spot.

However, the nature of their win away at the Stadio Olimpico, and the fact that they are now second and only a point behind after being seven points behind both the Rossoneri and Napoli before the international break, suggests that they are the team in form.

Despite difficult circumstances in the summer which saw the Nerazzurri have to part ways with key players as well as coach Antonio Conte, CEO Beppe Marotta looks to have replaced everyone well.

The team’s performances on the pitch now reflect this fact, with Simone Inzaghi getting the best out of everyone in the squad to put in dominant performances on the pitch.

In this form, it becomes increasingly difficult to overlook Inzaghi’s men as Scudetto favourites.
