Inter will look to try and extend the contract of wing-back Ivan Perisic after the January transfer window has closed.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the contacts have already begun over a possible extension but that the club will make a more serious attempt starting from February.

Perisic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and as of yet an agreement has looked far away on a renewal and the player has been expected to leave for free next summer.

However, the 32-year-old’s form this season has prompted the Nerazzurri to reconsider allowing him to leave and they have already begun the process of trying to convince him to stay at the club beyond next summer.

Nevertheless, there is still some distance between the player and the club on the salary terms of a new deal, and it will only be after January that talks will take place in which the Nerazzurri attempt to come together with the player.
