Midfielder Nicolo Barella and forward Alexis Sanchez were Inter’s two standout performers in their 4-0 demolition of Cagliari, according to Italian media.
The duo each received scores of 7.5/10 in the player rating’s from the match in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as did Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.
Barella had made a regrettable error to get himself sent of against Real Madrid during the week, something which could not be completely atoned for.
However, the 24-year-old showed against his former side how important he can be for his team, with his assist for Alexis Sanchez’s goal capping off a ruthless all-action display.
Meanwhile, Sanchez scored his first Serie A goal of the season with a fine first-time finish and generally proved that he can still get the job done when starting up front.
Getting a 7/10 grade for their displays just below those two, the Gazzetta also highlighted the displays by Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez, Marcelo Brozovic, and Hakan Calhanoglu.
