Inter could resume their pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram during the January transfer window if Alexis Sanchez is to leave the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri will sign an attacker if Sanchez is on his way and that Thuram is one of their considerations.

Thuram had reportedly been close to a move to Inter during the summer transfer window when the Nerazzurri had identified him as an attacking reinforcement following the sale of Romelu Lukaku.

However, a knee injury which ruled him out for several weeks ended Inter’s interest in signing the Frenchman during the summer.

Thuram has not left the Nerazzurri’s radar however, though the only possibility that he would be moved for in January would be if Sanchez departs.

If the Chilean is to leave then Thuram would be one of the main candidates to add to the attacking options in his place, with Sassuolo strikers Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca, Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic, and Genoa’s Felipe Caicedo other targets.
