Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana will be Inter’s first piece of transfer business related directly to the 2022/23 season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Inter has effectively blocked off the Cameroonian goalkeeper by getting extremely close to securing his signature.

His contract at Ajax will run out in June 2022 and that is when he looks set to become Inter’s number one goalkeeper instead of Slovenian shot-stopper Samir Handanovic.

The saga has rumbled on for much longer than many expected but Inter does not look set to miss out on favoured choice for a new goalkeeper, a position that has needed to be addressed for many years in the opinion of Inter fans.

Andre Onana is certainly not likely to be the only player that Inter signs in order to bolster their squad for Simone Inzaghi’s second campaign in charge.
