Inter striker Edin Dzeko is set for another COVID-19 test today to see if he can return to training ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash with Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that it currently looks unlikely that the 35-year-old will be ready to start against the Biancocelesti regardless of the test’s outcome.

Dzeko tested positive for COVID upon returning to training from his winter holidays, and has had to be in isolation at home as a precaution against further cases in the squad.

As soon as tests can confirm that the Bosnian is negative for the virus, he will be able to return to training along with the rest of the squad.

However, even if the striker is able to begin training with the full squad as soon as today, it does not look likely that he will be up to full fitness in time for Sunday’s match.
