Inter-linked Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana feels ready to be at his best in 2022 despite the difficulties of last year when he was out with a doping ban.

Speaking to ESPN, the 25-year-old opened up about how 2021 did not go as he would have hoped, but also expressed confidence that he can have a strong year ahead of his move to the Nerazzurri in the summer.

Onana had been unfortunate to face a one-year suspension from football thanks to an error in which he took a banned substance by mistake, though the ban lifted in November.

Now, the Cameroonian is back in action with his national team at the African Cup of Nations, and he is looking forward to a positive 2022 with club and country.

The keeper has already completed his medicals with Inter where he will join as the long-term successor to Samir Handanovic in the summer.

“It was nice to be able to play again,” he stated. “I’m not 100 percent, I’m 150 percent.”

He went on that “Everyone knows what happened and It has been a very difficult year for me, but now that I’m here I don’t have to talk about 2021 anymore.”
