Inter’s Serie A clash with Atalanta this evening will see the two strongest sides in Serie A from 2021 face off against another to set the tone for 2022.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who argue that the two teams’ numbers from the last calendar year show them to be clearly the two standout teams in the Italian top flight.

Inter were clear at the top as having collected the most points in Serie A in 2021, with 104 points between last season and this, while La Dei came in behind them with a total of 94 points.

The Nerazzurri and La Dei are also the two teams to have scored the most goals in Serie A in 2021, with 104 and 101 strikes finding the back of the net respectively.

The Nerazzurri have gone 39 matches without failing to score and are the only team in Europe’s top five leagues along with Bayern Munich to have scored in every league fixture so far this campaign.
