Inter have opened talks to sign Genoa striker Felipe Caicedo on loan for the rest of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri have made contact with the 33-year-old’s agent for a loan move.

With Joaquin Correa set to be out for at least a month recovering from the hamstring injury that he picked up in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia clash with Empoli, the Nerazzurri could be thin in attack over the packed fixture schedule for the rest of the season.

Injuries or suspensions for any of the forwards in the squad could leave Inter short-handed in attack, and so they are considering moving for a player on loan to make up the numbers in forward positions.

Caicedo is a player who has worked with Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi for several seasons together at Lazio, and his signing from the Griffone on loan for the second half of the campaign looks to be feasible.
