Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has asked to be allowed to leave on loan for the rest of the season in search of more regular playing time.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 26-year-old hopes to join Sampdoria on a dry loan for the second half of the campaign.

Sensi had looked all set for a dry loan to the Blucerchiati, having been convinced by incoming coach Marco Giampaolo on the prospect of starting regularly and playing his way into form after having found playing time very limited at Inter this season.

However, the injury to Joaquin Correa in Inter’s Coppa Italia clash with Empoli during the week, and Sensi’s heroics from the bench, have left his future up in the air with the Nerazzurri potentially wanting to keep him in the squad.

However, the midfielder reportedly prefers to make the switch to Sampdoria for the rest of the season, and is hoping to convince the Nerazzurri to loan him to the Ligurians.
