Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter will face a key moment in their season when they come up against city rivals AC Milan in the derby after the international break.
Writing in his column in yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, the journalist emphasized the significance of the derby for both the Nerazzurri’s and the Rossoneri’s seasons.
Inter head into the second league derby of the season four points ahead of their city rivals with a game in hand, and they will know that a result could be crucially significant for either side.
The Rossoneri can cut the Nerazzurri’s lead at the top of the table to just a point, albeit with a game in hand, while the Nerazzurri could begin to disappear out of sight at the top of the table with a win.
The significance of the clash will weigh on both teams, and Sconcerti feels that “The upcoming derby will be a match that clarifies a lot about both Inter’s and Milan’s seasons.”
