Inter have made keeping Eddie Salcedo in their squad following his loan return from Spezia their main alternative should they miss out on Genoa’s Felipe Caicedo.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will reintegrate the 20-year-old into the squad to bolster their attacking options should a move for Caicedo fall through.
Inter are still looking to loan Caicedo in, but even with Aleksandar Kolarov set to departure and Stefano Sensi likely moving to Sampdoria on loan, they would not quite have the space on their wage bill for the Ecuardorian’s salary.
The Nerazzurri are working to get a deal done with the player, but Genoa are not convinced to pay any of the 33-year-old’s wages even though they are prepared to let him leave on loan.
Should they not be able to get a deal for Caicedo over the line, the Nerazzurri are prepared to rely on Salcedo, who is back for the time being after his loan with Spezia was cut short.
