Inter midfielder Matias Vecino will return early from international duty after picking up a suspension for Uruguay due to his yellow card against Paraguay.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 30-year-old is expected back with the squad by Monday as he will not be with the national team for their next match.

Vecino played in Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Paraguay, but his booking means that he will be suspended for their next match due to an accumulation of yellow cards, and so he will be back in training with the Nerazzurri earlier than expected.

Meanwhile, Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will be hoping that striker Lautaro Martinez is given a rest in the Argentine national team’s next match against Colombia.

The 24-year-old scored for his national team in their 2-1 win over Chile, and with the pressure off as the Albiceleste have already qualified, Inzaghi will be hoping that the Nerazzurri striker is given some time off and doesn’t risk an injury.
