Genoa striker Felipe Caicedo has decided on the shirt number 88 to wear during his loan spell with Inter over the rest of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Ecuadorian has selected the number based on the year of his birth, 1988.

Caicedo is all set to join the Nerazzurri on loan for the rest of the season in order to bolster the attacking depth at the club, and only the official announcement remains to be made on a deal which looks to be done.

The Number 9 shirt that the 33-year-old has worn at Genoa is currently occupied by Edin Dzeko, whilst Hakan Calhanoglu wears the Number 20 shirt that he wore at Lazio.

Accordingly, Caicedo has settled on the number of his birth year as he reunites with his old Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi for the rest of the season.
