Inter forward Joaquin Correa is aiming to make his return from injury in time for the first leg of the Nerazzurri’s Champions League round of sixteen tie against Liverpool.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old is close to recovering and will hope to be available for the clash with the Reds next week.

Correa has been sidelined with a hamstring problem since the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia clash with Empoli, in which he had to come off the pitch in the early stages of the match with the injury.

However, he has been working towards his recovery and is getting close to being ready to make his return, targeting next Wednesday’s match against Liverpool.

The Nerazzurri will not rush the Argentine back from injury, but his return looks to be in sight and could come as early as the massive Champions League knockout clash.
