Inter would be ready to cash in on Stefan de Vrij during the summer transfer window, but are first waiting to secure Torino defender Bremer as a replacement for him.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are thinking about offloading the Dutchman if they can sign Bremer.
De Vrij is still an important player in the Nerazzurri’s back three, but he has been having possibly his worst season in terms of performances on the pitch.
Given that he has just turned thirty, Inter are starting to think about moving on from the defender, and would also be able to register a significant capital gain were they to sell him given that he was signed on a free transfer from Lazio.
De Vrij’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2023, and it remains to be seen whether a new contract will be agreed, but should one not be then he will likely be sold rather than allowed to go into the final season of his contract.
Bremer is seen as the ideal replacement for the 30-year-old based on his performances this season with Torino, and is familiar with the role of playing in the centre of a three-man defensive line.
A number of clubs are interested in the 24-year-old’s signature for the summer, including Juventus who are seriously considering a move for him, but if he can be brought in then Inter would be ready to part ways with de Vrij.
